• A mile is 1609 meters, not 'about 1300'.
• The hippocampus controls episodic memory, among other things. I was probably thinking of the amygdala, which regulates fear response - and creates picky eaters. However, as far as pain localization goes, that is, to some degree, subjective.
• The RFID thing is a 'security thread', which glows (perhaps color-coded to the note?) when placed under UV light.
• Donna Hay is from Australia; Ina Garten is from the US.
• According to Capers Jones 48% of million+ lines-of-code projects fail, and 65% of 10-million lines of code projects fail. However, it is safe to assume that many of the 'successful' projects were delivered with highly reduced or altered features.
• The IU is defined on a per-substance basis.

Corrections, Questions

• César Pelli designed the new national terminal, not Rem koolhaas.
• Kool-Aid Man is his name.
• Brenda's parents have Wassily chairs, not Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona chairs.
• Eight Tokyo restaurants were recently bestowed with three stars, not twelve. And Paris has ten three star restaurants, although France overall has many more (26 in 2005).
• Maryland does not seem to have a law guiding how much distance you have to give the car in front of you at a stoplight. I've always been taught 'while you can still see the tires of the car in front of you,' but I don't think this is codified anywhere.
• I haven't been able to find evidence of HP running an IT sweatshop in the late 1990's, either. Don't know where that idea came from...

three brief corrections

• A cavity magnetron generates microwaves. A cyclotron can be used to generate ion beams for radiation therapy.
• The name of the state fossil is the Ecphora gardnerae gardnerae Wilson.
• Somehow, I got Loreena McKennit confued with Kristy MacColl. I could add it to my list of confused people, but I doubt it will happen again.

• According to Wikipedia, Yucca Mountain isn't already full - but the current accepted amount for interment will have been generated by 2014, 3 years before its projected start date. However, Wikipedia also says Congress has voted to double its capacity.
• Plenty of nuclear waste has been transported across the country - but none of it, from what I can tell, to Yucca Mountain.
• I suppose some liars might be good for business. I can't find the article I was thinking of.
• Also, I can't find any evidence that 'Benetton is Communist.' However, I stand by my remark that the guy who runs American Apparel is a dick.

• Wikipedia only seems to know about one race riot occuring in Baltimore in the 60s, in response to MLK's assassination.
• The Castro is located adjacent to Haight-Ashbury.
• Gargamel often wanted to cook the Smurfs and eat them.
• Homes count as 'investment items', so I don't think they are included in the US CPI. (I'm not 100% on this.)

• MCA is Adam Yauch (not Yost). Adrock is Adam Horowitz.
• Vertigo has scenes set in Big Basin State Park, not Redwood. Also, Redwood is quite far from Napa (about a six hour drive).
• A Gill is half of a cup, not 7/8. For some reason, it seems that I've made this correction already, or, at least, made this mistake before.
• What is up with Korean geneticists? It turns out, I have no idea.
• Fish don't get electrocuted by lightning, unless they are swimming very close to the surface.
• While not recorded, it is unlikely that James K. Polk ever said Suck it, Mexico, we're taking Texas.
• The British Pound is not linked to the Euro.

• Diffraction grating works in a different manner than I said. Pretty much the exact opposite, really.
• Simon Baron-Cohen is Sacha Baron-Cohen's cousin, not father.
• Several lines of 737s have two rows of exit doors over the wing, like the A320.
• Venice (Venezia) is the capitol of Venetia (Veneto).
• The living do not outnumber the dead.
• They are outpour blues, not Al Gore blues.
• Amanda Bynes is not in the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.
• Dennis Quaid isn't in The Fabulous Baker Boys, but I was right about Jeff Bridges, so I made the point.

• International Delight Creamer is made by White Wave Foods, a subsidiary of US dairy giant Dean Foods. Coffee-Mate is made by Nestle.
• While Ray Ozzie did work on VisiCalc, Dan Bricklin invented it.
• The languages probably were Spanish (castellano), Valencian (catalan), Galician (galego) and Basque (euskera). I couldn't tell the difference between the first three, but that is likely due to coincidences in written words, not in spoken language or grammar.
• Mormons don't seem to be polytheist, I guess. Mormon theology confuses me.

• The rules for Roman Numerals have been in flux over the centuries, with users often making mistakes, willfully writing longer versions of numbers, or simply following now outdated rules. Writing to the left to indicate subtraction has been in existence since well before clocks were developed in the late 1300s, as is evidenced by the Roman Colosseum, which has 40 represented as XL.
• It was the Georgetown branch of the DC public library that caught fire, not a Georgetown University library.
• MLK is a different song, less obviously about MLK than Pride.
• While Jamestown wasn't abandoned by 1620, they did move to the 'New Town', (I think this just means the eastern side of the penninsula), abandoning their old fort, at some point in the 20s. At the end of the century, the statehouse moved to Middle Plantation, which was renamed Williamsburg, and Jamestown transitioned from town into plantations.
