| A Modified Grasshopper |
L recently put together an interesting dessert cocktail - a
grasshopper slightly modified to overcome the lack of cream in our fridge. While I pretty much exclusively know how to make a
margarita, which I make 4:2:1 tequila:orange liquor:lime juice, and a sweet
Manhattan, with equal parts vermouth and rye, it should not be too hard to learn more. Mark Bittman has a
good bird's eye view of the cocktail world, and there is a good list of some of the currently resurgent classic cocktails on AMC's
Mad Men cocktail menu.
While I'm at it, I really should learn
more about wine. The only way to do that is to do blind tastings at home. If anyone wants to come over for a wine tasting party, let me know.
